Well, I guess if a museum wanted this guitar for it's collection all they'd have to do would be to purchase it.

Although I'm a Dead & Jerry fanatic, I'm not an expert on their instruments. Is this guitar anywhere near as historically significant as say either the Rosebud or Wolf guitars that Jerry played? If not, I'm not sure I see this as such a big deal. I imagine Jerry played / toyed with a bunch of different guitars over the years, & I don't think that every single one he ever played with belongs in a museum. Cool collectors item? Sure. In a Hard Rock hotel or casino? Absolutely. Better yet the Dead should buy it & put it in their upcoming museum.

Reminds me after he died when some clown tried to sell a used toilet from an old house of Jerry's that was being renovated . . . only bigger clown was the fool who bought it . . .

Anyway, $300,000 is life-changing money for a lot of people, if I owned that guitar & it was just hanging in my wall & someone wanted to pay me $300,000 + for it I'm not sure I'd pass it up.
